Windows XP Service Pack 2 Full Release

A few weeks ago in July we told you about the WinXP SP2 Release Candidate 2, now the full release version is available:

Click here for the Windows XP Service Pack 2 for IT Professionals and Developers (266Mb).

I recommend this version if you have the bandwidth and time, because if you need to reinstall XP again, you don't need to wait to download SP2 again.

Or if you want the easy method click here to use the automatic update applet to download the smaller version of SP2 at only 75Mb.

Installation of SP2 will require 1.8Gb of disk space.

You should read the documentation before you install SP2, and check that your existing software (and games) will still work after you install it by visiting publisher's websites.

And as with all updates, there's always a chance that everything will not work after the installation, so backup your important files first!! and don't install SP2 if you have important work or assignments due soon.
