Moore's Law

Moore's Law, The Future - Technology & Research at Intel
"In 1965, Intel co-founder Gordon Moore saw the future. His prediction, popularly known as Moore's Law, states that the number of transistors on a chip doubles about every two years. This observation about silicon integration, made a reality by Intel, has fueled the worldwide technology revolution."

Cash Prizes for Programming!

Our friends over at COMP225.5 are holding a programming competition over the July holidays. I know most of you are probably only thinking about exams at this point, but it's worth keeping this in the back of your mind!

They are holding two competitions over July, with each competition consisting of two rounds. You only need to go to one round per competition though. Cash prizes will be given to teams who come first and second in each competition. Teams consist of two or three people, but if you don't have any friends who want to go, you can sign up by yourself and you'll be put in a team.

They will also be holding two more competitions during semester two with cash prizes also. With about $500 worth of prizes going, it looks pretty appealing to me! See you there!
